The Montcalm Generals were the 62-48 winner over the River View Raiders when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Montcalm took a 63-48 bruising from River View on Tuesday.
It was another big night for Ethan Justice, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds for River View. Those 15 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jackson Danielson, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Montcalm bumped their record down to 5-3 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for River View, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.
Montcalm will head out on the road to face off against Mount View at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. River View won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tazewell at 8:00 p.m. on January 10th. Tazewell will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 434th in Virginia, while River View is ranked 69th in West Virginia).
