Baseball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Clarksdale

Clarksdale won against Yazoo County on Saturday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. Clarksdale beat the Riverside Bulldogs by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-6. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

James Washington was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

Clarksdale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Clarksdale and bumps their season record up to 5-8. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Riverside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6.

Clarksdale has already played their next game, a 7-6 win against Yazoo County on the 22nd. As for Riverside, they will square off against O'Bannon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
