Everything went their way against Citrus Valley on Wednesday as Beaumont made off with a 63-43 win. Given Beaumont's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while the Blackhawks are ranked 749th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Beaumont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Vince tracy Capuras led the charge by scoring 15 points. Another player making a difference was Adrian Farias, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Citrus Valley saw an underclassman step up: Jordan Davis scored 18 points. Jayden Call was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five assists and two steals.
Beaumont's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7. As for Citrus Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beaumont will take on the Wildcats at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Redlands East Valley is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games. As for Citrus Valley, they will be playing at home against the Cowboys at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
