Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Midlothian walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Clover Hill Cavaliers 3-2 on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their 13th in a row.
Erika Fiege made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April.
Fiege wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Erin Lowe, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave Lowe a new career-high. Josie Renschler was another, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Midlothian's victory bumped their record up to 19-3. As for Clover Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8-1.
