Bear Grass Charter extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping their season record up to 15-3 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 14-13 W against the Manteo Redskins. Bear Grass Charter's victory was all the more impressive since the Redskins were averaging only 3.84 runs allowed on the season.

As for Manteo, they moved to 14-5 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this contest were averaging 3.84 runs allowed.

For Manteo's part, Kayla Austin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Bridgett Berry, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
