Cade Mills was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Joseph Halstead was another key player, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with five RBI and two doubles.
Meanwhile, Steamboat Springs had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over Eagle Valley two weeks ago. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Fred Lohne made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Tanner Cobb was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Damien Dobson, who earned two runs and one stolen base.

Meeker came out on top in a nail-biter against Steamboat Springs in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Cowboys repeat their success, or do the Sailors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
