The Minooka Indians will challenge the Oswego East Wolves at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Minooka proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 14) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Joliet Catholic 10-9. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 5, 2022, but that streak is no more.
Addisonn Crumly was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Karli McMillin was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4.
Meanwhile, Oswego East had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They blew past the Bulldogs 18-3. That looming 18-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wolves yet this season.
Oswego East got a massive performance out of Ryenne Sinta, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles and three RBI. That's the most RBI Sinta has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kylie Mannis, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.
Oswego East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .593. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .407 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Minooka's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Oswego East, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Minooka hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .429. However, it's not like Oswego East struggles in that department as they've averaged .409. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Minooka's way against Oswego East in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Minooka made off with a 6-0 victory. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
