The Bremen Lions won the last time they faced the New Prairie Cougars, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Bremen managed a 43-38 victory over New Prairie.
Bremen got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chase Devine out in front who scored 20 points. Devine is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tyrus Graverson, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
New Prairie's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brody Wiginton, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trenton Klute, who scored eight points.
Bremen's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for New Prairie, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bremen will challenge LaVille at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. LaVille is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for New Prairie, they will head out on the road to square off against South Bend St. Joseph at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. South Bend St. Joseph presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than New Prairie in Indiana (South Bend St. Joseph is ranked 96th, while New Prairie is ranked 384th).
