Softball Recap: UMS-Wright Prep Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

UMS-Wright Prep never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Rain Red Raiders as they made off with a 16-0 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by 11 runs or more this season.

UMS-Wright Prep got a massive performance out of Emma Trawick, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Trawick a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emma McGorty, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI.

UMS-Wright Prep hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in nine consecutive games.

UMS-Wright Prep pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Rain, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-11-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. UMS-Wright Prep will venture away from home to face off against Murphy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rain, they will challenge Vigor at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.88 runs per game on average), something the Red Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
