Baseball Recap: Robertson Drops Highest Score of Season Against Raton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Robertson). They were the clear victors by a 22-10 margin over the Raton Tigers on Thursday. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.

Robertson got a massive performance out of Diego Maez, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Maez a new career-high. Brian Lucero was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Robertson hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Raton struck out eight times.

Robertson is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Raton, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Robertson will head out to take on St. Michael's at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Raton, they will venture away from home to face off against Santa Rosa at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The Lions will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
