The Loretto Mustangs entered their tilt with the Collinwood Trojans with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Loretto blew past Collinwood 48-28. Given Loretto's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Collinwood is ranked 249th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Loretto to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ally Weathers, who scored 19 points. The game was Weathers' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Jenny Clifton was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Loretto's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Collinwood, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Loretto will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lawrence County at 6:00 p.m. As for Collinwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Lewis County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
