While losing is never fun, St. Thomas Aquinas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 41st in New Jersey, while Neumann-Goretti is ranked ninth in Pennsylvania).
Meanwhile, South Brunswick was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 59-53 to East Brunswick.
St. Thomas Aquinas' loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for South Brunswick, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Everything came up roses for St. Thomas Aquinas against South Brunswick in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 83-41 win.
