Satsuma has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Fruitdale Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Satsuma is ranked 450th, while Fruitdale is ranked 447th).
Satsuma suffered their biggest loss since December 30, 2023 on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Jackson, falling 68-27. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Satsuma in their matchups with Jackson: they've now lost five in a row.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Fruitdale, who are still winless after their 16th matchup. They received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 58-44 to Millry.
The losing side was boosted by Deion Taylor, who scored 26 points along with six rebounds and three steals. CJ Weaver was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five steals.
Satsuma's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-20. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.2 points per game. Fruitdale's record is now 0-16.
Satsuma came up short against Fruitdale in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 64-60. Can Satsuma avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
