The Westran Hornets will be playing at home against the Milan Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Westran focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
In what's become a running theme this season, Westran gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They really took it to Fayette for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-31 win at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-12.
Westran's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brady Hollmann, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals. Treydence Chapman was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Milan's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their 12th straight loss. They fell to Grundy County/Newtown-Harris 50-44. While losing is never fun, Milan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while the Panthers are ranked 145th).
Westran's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Milan, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-14.
Westran lost to the Wildcats at home by a decisive 62-46 margin in their previous matchup back in February of 2020. Thankfully for Westran, Eddie Gonzalez (who scored 22 points along with four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
