Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hume-Fogg). They never let the Glencliff Colts get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Monday. The Blue Knights haven't had any issues with the Colts recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Desmond Vecchio made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Vecchio was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.
In other batting news, Samuel Delaney was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Carl Birts, who scored two runs and stole a base.
Hume-Fogg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Hume-Fogg's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-10. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games.
