Northview Academy is 10-0 against the Eagles since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Northview Academy Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Seymour Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Seymour took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Northview Academy, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Northview Academy was able to grind out a solid win over the Fighting Cocks, taking the game 58-50. The win made it back-to-back wins for Northview Academy.
Meanwhile, Seymour's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. The contest between them and Eagleton College & Career Academy wasn't particularly close, with Seymour falling 79-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite their loss, Seymour saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Cameron Soulages, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds and two steals, was perhaps the best of all. Soulages hasn't dropped below 15 points for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of David Canterbury, who scored 18 points along with four steals.
Northview Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Seymour, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-18.
Everything came up roses for Northview Academy against the Eagles when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 82-55 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northview Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
