The Cocke County Fighting Cocks will head out on the road to face off against the Fulton Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Cocke County is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fulton in Tennessee (Cocke County is ranked 61st, while Fulton is ranked 235th).
Last Friday, Cocke County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-46 to Jefferson County.
Despite the loss, Cocke County saw an underclassman step up: Karmine Carmichael scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Carmichael also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Blakelyn Clevenger, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Fulton took a serious blow against Farragut on Tuesday, falling 52-25. Fulton has not had much luck with Farragut recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Cocke County's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4. As for Fulton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
Cocke County came up short against Fulton in their previous matchup back in November of 2021, falling 55-45. Can Cocke County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
