After two games on the road, Turpin is heading back home. They will take on the Monroe Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Turpin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Turpin was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-48 to Seton. That's two games in a row now that Turpin has lost by exactly five points.
Despite their loss, Turpin saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Sophia Schiano, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Josie Carrelli, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Monroe beat Preble Shawnee 31-27 on Saturday.
Turpin has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Monroe, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
