Long lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Carroll, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. Everything went the Long Rebels' way against the Carroll Eagles on Thursday as the Long Rebels made off with an 18-1 victory. The win was nothing new for the Rebels as they're now sitting on 11 straight.
Anna Claire Free made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.
In other batting news, Kennedy Robertson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Kaylie Joseph was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Long always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carroll only posted an OBP of .312.
