If the Osborne Cardinals were feeling good off their 53-28 takedown of the North Cobb Warriors last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Osborne took a hard 75-57 fall against Cherokee on Friday. Osborne has struggled against Cherokee recently, as their match on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Osborne lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Omari Chaudry, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Chaudry hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Waters, who scored 13 points.
Osborne has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Cherokee, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Osborne will take on Walton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Walton's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. Cherokee won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Kennesaw Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on January 20th. Kennesaw Mountain will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 338th, while Cherokee is ranked 125th).
