Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Amory Panthers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 14-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Lauderdale on Friday.
When it comes to explaining why Amory lost, one person who can't be blamed is Emmanuel Randle. Despite the final result, he rushed for 148 yards on only 15 carries. Randle is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played.
It was another big night for K.p Peoples, who rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Peoples really tore up the turf during one magnificent 84-yard run.
Amory's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for West Lauderdale, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.
Amory does not have any more games scheduled as of now. West Lauderdale will take on Houston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Houston is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
