In other batting news, Pine Plains let Luke Blackburn and Matthew Spada run wild. Blackburn went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Spada went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave Spada a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Warren Lounsbury, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Pine Plains always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .674. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rhinebeck only posted an OBP of .263.
Meanwhile, Millbrook won against Webutuck on Wednesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Blazers came out on top against Rhinebeck by a score of 11-6. The Blazers haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Johnny Jacob was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Will Quirk was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Pine Plains' record is now 3-0. As for Millbrook, their record now sits at an identical 3-0.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Pine Plains has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .500. However, it's not like Millbrook struggles in that department as they've averaged .467. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pine Plains came out on top in a nail-biter against Millbrook when the teams last played back in May of 2025, sneaking past 7-5.
