Meanwhile, Westminster Schools of Augusta faced Vidalia Heritage Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 29-8 margin over the Eagles.
Westminster Schools of Augusta's win came from a few key players Sherwood Christian Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Julian Lively, who threw for 171 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground. Those 171 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Westminster Schools of Augusta's leading receiver Rhett Ketterman was Lively's top target yet again, picking up 101 receiving yards and one TD.
Westminster Schools of Augusta didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of T.J. Daniels and Ketterman. Porter Grinalds was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 13 total tackles.
Sherwood Christian Academy's record now sits at 11-0. As for Westminster Schools of Augusta, their record is now 10-1.
Thursday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Sherwood Christian Academy has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 214.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Westminster Schools of Augusta struggles in that department as they've been averaging 172.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Sherwood Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Westminster Schools of Augusta in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, winning 36-26.
