Village Christian won the last time they faced Maranatha, and RJ Nunez did his part to make sure it happened again. Everything went the Village Christian Crusaders' way against the Maranatha Minutemen on Thursday as the Village Christian Crusaders made off with a 3-0 win thanks in part to Nunez, who had 12 digs and two assists. That's the most assists he has posted over his last five contests.

Village Christian was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-20, 25-18.

Village Christian's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-7. As for Maranatha, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Village Christian will square off against Valley Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Maranatha, they will take on Heritage Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
