While losing is never fun, Cristo Rey can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Neighborhood House Charter is ranked tenth).
Neighborhood House Charter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alicia Browder, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 20 rebounds. Browder also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Karin Richardson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 assists.
Cristo Rey bumped their record down to 0-4 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.3 points per game. As for Neighborhood House Charter, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Cristo Rey will be playing in front of their home fans against Salem at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Neighborhood House Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Varsity Opponent at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
