The Holmes County Blue Devils will challenge the Chipley Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Holmes County's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Chipley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Holmes County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Bethlehem with a sharp 16-1 victory. Considering the Blue Devils have won ten matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Kiersten Womble, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Lyndsey Pilcher also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Holmes County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Chipley was able to grind out a solid win over Ponce De Leon on Tuesday, taking the game 7-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.
Lauren Waits made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Kenzlee Nelson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Olivia Brown was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Holmes County has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Chipley, their record now sits at 15-6.
Everything went Holmes County's way against Chipley when the teams last played back in March of 2022, as Holmes County made off with a 15-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
