A Season-Best Performance from Juan Mejia Leads Johnson County over Chuckey-Doak
Johnson County was led to victory by Juan Mejia, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Mejia wasn't messing around, rushing for 205 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.8 yards per carry. The game was his seventh straight with two or more rushing touchdowns dating back to last season.
Unfortunately for Chuckey-Doak, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Mejia. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Mejia saw the Black Knights), he rushed for 160 yards.

Kolby Jones Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
On Friday, Unicoi County got the W thanks in part to Kolby Jones playing the best football he has all season. Jones rushed for 110 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 123 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
If history really does repeat itself, Jones might just drop another big game when he faces off against Claiborne on Friday. When Jones last faced the Bulldogs back in October of 2023, he threw for 319 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73% of his passes.

Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Brayden Maples stepped things up a notch to give Gatlinburg-Pittman the 'W'. Maples was dynamite, making a tackle.
Gatlinburg-Pittman is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Maples and Gatlinburg-Pittman will square off against Johnson County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Bransan Salts Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Bransan Salts posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 184 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.8 yards per carry.
For the season, Salts has run in 5 touchdowns while averaging 118.5 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he was only averaging 14.83 rushing yards per game.
