The Edison Chargers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. The matchup between Edison and Huron wasn't particularly close, with Edison falling 56-42. While losing is never fun, Edison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 710th, while Huron is ranked 258th).
Several Chargers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grayson Smith, who scored seven points. Luke Whiley was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Edison's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Huron, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edison will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Woodmore at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Huron will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Margaretta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Margaretta knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Huron likes a good challenge.
