Everything went their way against the Valmeyer Pirates on Thursday as they made off with a 13-1 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Warriors needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Corinne Mueller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 17 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kamryn Patterson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Reagan Moore was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Steeleville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valmeyer only managed four.
