Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is North Thurston's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

North Thurston's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the River Ridge Hawks as they made off with a 6-0 win. Considering the Rams have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ethan Shaefer was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grady Wright, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

North Thurston is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for River Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

North Thurston will challenge Lakes at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for River Ridge, they will take on Timberline at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
