Lawrence County has gone a perfect 3-0 against Magoffin County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bulldogs will host the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Lawrence County's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Magoffin County has been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

On Wednesday, Lawrence County got the win against Martin County by a conclusive 16-1. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.

Boedy Maynard made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Maynard was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eli Fletcher, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Gray Derifield, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Lawrence County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Martin County struck out nine times.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Magoffin County was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They lost 18-1 to Floyd Central.

Lawrence County is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Magoffin County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.

Everything went Lawrence County's way against Magoffin County in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, as Lawrence County made off with an 11-1 win. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
