Football Recap: Conant's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Conant won the last time they faced Wheeling, and Arianna Dugo did her part to make sure it happened again. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 38-13 margin over the Wildcats on Wednesday thanks in part to Dugo, who rushed for 333 yards and three scores on only 15 carries, and also threw for 142 yards and a pair of TDs. Her longest rush was for an incredible 91 yards.

With the win, Conant broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-6. As for Wheeling, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conant will take on Schaumburg at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. The Saxons' defense has only allowed 7.8 points per game this season, so the Cougars' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Wheeling, they will head out to square off against Maine East at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats will be up against the Blue Demons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 42.33 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
