After two games on the road, Westview is heading back home. They will take on the Bonita Vista Barons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
After only seven points in their last matchup, Westview made sure to put some points up on the board against Mar Vista two weeks ago. Westview really took it to Mar Vista for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-6 victory on the road. With Westview ahead 45-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Walsh, who threw for 263 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Amare Gomez was another key contributor, gaining 154 total yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, with a playoff game on the line, Bonita Vista rose to the challenge on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Coronado 35-0 at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Bonita Vista just coasted through the last quarter.
It was another big night for Caden Ada-tannehill, who rushed for 162 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also threw for eight yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Westview to 6-4 and Bonita Vista to 7-4.
