New Brighton has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Neshannock Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. New Brighton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 672nd, while the Lancers are ranked 158th).
Last Wednesday, New Brighton had to suffer through a rough 67-31 loss at the hands of the Wolverine. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for New Brighton in their matchups with the Wolverine: they've now lost seven in a row.
Meanwhile, Neshannock put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Riverside with a sharp 73-48 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Neshannock.
New Brighton's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Neshannock, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
New Brighton was dealt a bruising 68-15 loss at the hands of the Lancers in their previous meeting back in January. Can New Brighton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
