On Thursday, the Lyman Eagles faced the Pinedale Wranglers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lyman took a hard 63-48 fall against Pinedale. Lyman was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pinedale apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.
Pinedale got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Erica Wilson out in front who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that Wilson scored 15 or more points. Elyn Bowers was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with nine assists and eight rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Lyman and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Pinedale, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lyman won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Evanston at 5:00 p.m. on January 12th. Evanston comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Pinedale won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Jackson Hole at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Jackson Hole comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
