Bothell is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will be playing at home against the Mount Si Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Bothell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
Bothell is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Washington's top teams: Liberty, who was ranked 24th at the time (Bothell was ranked sixth). The Cougars took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Cougars couldn't push the score so high this time.
Bothell saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mili Westergaard, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Mount Si made sure to put some runs up on the board against Cedar Park Christian on Monday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 14-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won three contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Abigail Rowland (2026) was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Maddie Moritz (2026) was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double.
Mount Si always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.
Mount Si's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Bothell, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Bothell has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Mount Si struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bothell suffered a grim 13-5 defeat to Mount Si when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
