It was a good run, but the Alvarado Indians unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They suffered a rough 48-28 defeat at the hands of Godley. While losing is never fun, Alvarado can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 447th, while the Wildcats are ranked 149th).
Despite the loss, Alvarado still got an impressive performance from Candra Bridgewater, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Bridgewater is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.
Alvarado's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-15. As for Godley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season.
Alvarado will head out on the road to take on the Wildcats at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Kennedale will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Godley will take on the Mustangs at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Life Waxahachie has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28.
