Given College Park's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 509th, while Mt. Diablo is ranked 1024th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
College Park's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mathys Joseph, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Deegan Sullenger was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Clayton Valley Charter's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6. As for College Park, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.
Keep an eye on the arc in Monday's game: Clayton Valley Charter have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 4.6 threes per game. It's a different story for College Park, though, as they've been averaging only 5.8 threes per game. Given Clayton Valley Charter's sizeable advantage in that area, College Park will need to find a way to close that gap.
