When it comes to explaining why Rauner lost, one person who can't be blamed is Yahweh Anderson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Roman Willis, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Golder now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Rauner, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Golder is on the road again on Friday and play against Westinghouse at 5:30 p.m. on December 1st. Westinghouse presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Golder in Illinois (Westinghouse is ranked 68th, while Golder is ranked 427th). As for Rauner, they will head out on the road to face off against Baker at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
