Concord Academy hasn't had much luck against Hickory Grove Christian recently, but that could start to change  on Thursday. The Eagles will host the Lions  at 4:30  p.m. Hickory Grove Christian took a loss in their last  match and will be looking to turn the tables on Concord Academy, who comes in off a win.
Concord Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most  runs they have   all season. They walked away with  a   16-12  win over SouthLake Christian Academy  on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Concord Academy considering their two-run performance the  game before.
 Noah Hatley was a  major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he  struck out eight batters over  four innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   two  hits. Hatley was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with one  run and one  double.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Gray Madeira, who  went 3-for-5 with three  stolen bases, five  runs,  and one  RBI. Those  three  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Tripp Cantadore, who  went 2-for-3 with two  runs and one  RBI.
 Concord Academy  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .523. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Hickory Grove Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They took  a  5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gaston Christian.
 Hickory Grove Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Von Pelow, who  went 2-for-3 with one  double and one  RBI.
 Hickory Grove Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Concord Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Concord Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 9.2  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hickory Grove Christian struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  an even more impressive 8.2  strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
