Hannah-Pamplico and the Vikings are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Hannah-Pamplico Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Latta Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Hannah-Pamplico focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Hannah-Pamplico ultimately got the result they hoped for. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 59-58 win over Green Sea Floyds. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Tylin Jenkins was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Shamar Eaddy was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Latta came into Monday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They didn't even let Green Sea Floyds onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Monday. After a 61-50 finish the last time they played, Latta and the Trojans decided to play a little more cautiously this time around.
The victory (which was Hannah-Pamplico's third in a row) raised their record to 9-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Latta, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-14.
Everything went Hannah-Pamplico's way against the Vikings in their previous matchup on Tuesday as the Raiders made off with a 61-38 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hannah-Pamplico since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
