The Clear Creek Golddiggers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 91-60 win over Denver Academy. With that win, Clear Creek brought their scoring average up to 51.8 points per game.
Collin Hendrickson was his usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 35 points and 20 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Clear Creek's points. Another player making a difference was Tyler O'Brien, who scored 29 points along with two steals.
Denver Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Nolan Monasch and Riley Allen. Monasch scored 26 points along with five assists, while Allen scored 21 points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Allen scored 15 or more points. Henry Stettner was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Clear Creek has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Denver Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Clear Creek will head out on the road to take on SkyView Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. SkyView Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 324 points over their last five matchups. As for Denver Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cripple Creek-Victor at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
