Baseball Recap: Royal Palm Beach Takes a Loss

Royal Palm Beach fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Spanish River on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spanish River Sharks by a score of 6-5. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Sharks from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Robert Gonzalez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Royal Palm Beach is 2-1 when Gonzalez posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Miguelangel Guzman was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

This is the second loss in a row for Royal Palm Beach and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Spanish River, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Royal Palm Beach didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 11-10 loss against Forest Hill on the 28th. As for Spanish River, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-3 defeat against Park Vista on the 27th.
