Pittsfield has gone a perfect 7-0 against Nute recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pittsfield has three straight wins, Nute has 12 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Pittsfield let Newmarket stack four runs on them in the sixth inning on Tuesday but luckily Pittsfield prevailed anyway. The Panthers walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Mules.
Alex Penney made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Savannah Chagnon, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Alivia Lavigne was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Pittsfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Newmarket only posted a batting average of .087.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Nute and Farmington had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Rams came up short against the Tigers on Monday, falling 15-1. Rams fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Tigers since Monday.
Pittsfield's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Nute, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.
Nute's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Pittsfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .400. It's a different story for Nute, though, as they've only averaged .211. Will they be able to contain Pittsfield's hitters?
Pittsfield got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April against Nute by a conclusive 15-1 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
