The Marietta Indians lost against the Kingston Redskins back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Marietta was the victim of a tough 62-41 loss at the hands of Kingston. While losing is never fun, Marietta can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while Kingston is ranked 104th).
Despite the loss, Marietta saw an underclassman step up: Luis Garcia scored nine points. Jorge Remis was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Marietta has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Kingston, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marietta will take on Sulphur at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Marietta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for Kingston, they will be playing at home against Plainview at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kingston has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
