Northern Guilford waltzed into their contest on Friday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They blew past the Northwest Guilford Vikings 9-2. Considering the Nighthawks have won 15 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Dakotah Wilkins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Morgan Headen was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one double.
