For the first time this season, White County Central will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to challenge the Bigelow Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
On Monday, White County Central didn't have quite enough to beat Maumelle Charter and fell 6-5. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hannah Blagg made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Haylee Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bigelow). They were the clear victors by an 18-4 margin over St. Joseph on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won seven in a row.
Hana Staples was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Maebry Pattillo also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.
Bigelow kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since the start of last season.
White County Central now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Bigelow, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. White County Central has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .511. However, it's not like Bigelow struggles in that department as they've averaged .450. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
White County Central might still be hurting after the 21-3 defeat they got from Bigelow when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
