After flying high against the Cristo Rey Tampa Panthers last Monday, the Foundation Christian Academy Panthers came back down to earth. Foundation Christian Academy was dealt a 49-11 loss at the hands of Sarasota Christian on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Foundation Christian Academy has scored all season.
Foundation Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Marin O'Leary , who scored six points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points O'Leary has scored all season.
Brenda B was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 19 points, 11 rebounds, and nine steals for Sarasota Christian. That makes it six consecutive games in which B has scored at least 25% of Sarasota Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Octavia Stoller, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Foundation Christian Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Sarasota Christian, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Foundation Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Brandon Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. As for Sarasota Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Bradenton Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bradenton Christian will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
