Far Rockaway is 0-3 against Cardozo since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Far Rockaway Seahorses will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardozo Judges at 5:00 p.m. Far Rockaway will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 467th, while Cardozo is ranked 88th).
Far Rockaway suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Bowne, falling 85-48. Far Rockaway was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-16.
Meanwhile, Cardozo put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Architecture, Engineering and Construction by a score of 78-67. That's two games straight that Cardozo has won by exactly 11 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cardozo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brandon Barrett, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barrett has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Peter Douvres, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Far Rockaway has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Cardozo, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-0.
Things could have been worse for Far Rockaway, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 72-56 loss to Cardozo in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Cardozo's Jordin Walker, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds. Now that Far Rockaway knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
