Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Ava Nixon stepped things up a notch to give Atlantic Christian the 'W'. Nixon turned in nothing short of a gem, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Nixon and Atlantic Christian will venture away from home to challenge Gloucester County Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last time Nixon duked it out with the Conquerors (back in April of 2024), the Cougars came out on top by a score of 11-1. Will another strong game from Nixon be enough to do it again?
